Question Samsung Chromebook not connecting to Wi-fi

So... I just received my new Samsung Chromebook yesterday, and upon trying to set it up, on the first screen, it requires you to choose a wireless network to connect to. So, I tried connecting to my family's network, and it told me that I'd entered an incorrect password. Now, after several tries using the correct password, it let me through, and I started using my chromebook. Unfortunately, the connection kept on dropping, and each time it did, it told me that I'd entered an incorrect password to the wi-fi network, even though it had been working just a couple seconds prior. Each time it did this it took more and more time to reconnect, and now, it doesn't connect at all.

I have tried many things to resolve this issue, including: Turning the modem and router on and off a couple times, disabling and re-enabling wi-fi on my chromebook, calling the Samsung Tech Support Group, and recovering the computer using a USB with the Chrome OS downloaded onto it. Now, it's giving me the same message, and I'm wondering: Does anyone have the slightest idea what could cause something like this?

    Thanks.

What type of encryption is your wireless router using?

How old is said router... brand?

I'm willing to bet there is something wrong with the router - either in the software or hardware - and that is impacting the Chromebook's performance.

Are there any other computers utilizing the WI FI (Ethernet doesn't count)?
    No, no... that's ignorant!

I had to get a firmware update done on my router to get some other Samsung items to connect to it's wifi (my wife's phone, my friend's Galaxy Tablet).

Samsung is notorious for implementing hardware that requires complete standards-compliance. I'd confirm the router's firmware is up to date. Keep us posted with your experiences.

I'm having the exact same problem

I am having the exact same problem with my Samsung Chrome book. I thought it was a problem with my verizon MIFI but then I upgraded to a new device and I am having the same issue. It's very frustrating. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My Samsung Chromebook had this issue also, i found that changing the router's wifi channel to one other than "automatic" fixed the issue. Now, it connects first time on boot and remains connected.

ARM Samsung version, ditto, no wifi connection. Setting the channel didn't fix it for me. Using WPA2-PSK encryption.

Thank you, I feel samsung mobile phone shell is very good, give a person the feeling is very comfortable, more high-grade appearance, can good shockproof and buffer wallop, surface anti fingerprint design soft very easy to clean, not changeful form.
