    Home Screen Frozen

New Samsung Chromebook. Been working fine for a couple of weeks but now when I log into owner page it is frozen and does not respond to anything. If I log into guest or other users it works fine. Please advise!

jbro, that is the most un-helpful post of all time...

    To the OP:

Flip the dev switch (The dev switch is accessable without opening the device. It is on the right hand side of the device behind the SIM slot cover) and turn on the notebook. You may have to press CTRL + D at the first screen - do so and the device will automatically erase the stateful partition (where user accounts, passwords, local files) are stored)... once this has completed, flip the switch back and the device will once again erase the stateful partiton. You will then be to your OOBE as if the device were new. 3G (if applicable) will already be activated, as it is not effected when erasing the stateful partition.
    No, no... that's ignorant!

I was able to put in developer mode but I can not seem to find the switch to turn developer mode off. Is the switch microscopic or is in down in the slot? I set up my login but I must be operating in developer mode. When it boots up it say OS verification is turned off and after a few seconds comes up to my login screen or I can hit control D and login. Please advise how to find switch and turn back off?

Just flip the same switch that you used to enter developer mode /back/ into it's starting position. And yes, "OS verification is turned off" means you are indeed in developer mode. Aside from the fact that you have to wait - or press CTRL+D - there are no major differences in developer mode unless you are trying to root the device.

Thanks for your help, was able to turn developer mode off. No switch, maybe mine is broken but I had to stick a paperclip in the slot and slide it to the left to turn off. My 3G and all me apps remained in tact.

Good to hear it's working well now. Strange about the switch - there's a very good chance it may have broke... Either that or you are just intended to use something like a paperclip to flip it back and forth.
